Cross Campus Elm

cross-campus-2.jpgCross Campus Elm

This 35 year old elm tree (Ulmus rubra) was one of eight trees that grew on the Cross Campus Quad, only three of which were elms.  It grew in front of the entrance to Harkness Hall, adjacent to Calhoun College and across the quad from the Sterling Memorial Library.  The Elm tree, which is the namesake of Elm City, showed early stages of disease and was removed in July 2014.
