This natural edge bowl with a partial bark edge was handturned from a massive sugar maple tree grew behind the rectory of the Yale Divinity School. The tree began dropping its branches and had to be removed in the fall of 2015. A brief prayer service was held the day before the tree was removed, where the comminity offered thanks for the role this tree played for many decades in the life of the School. This bowl measures 9" in diameter and 5 1/2" in height. It is bowl #10 of the bowls that will be turned from this iconic tree.
