Product Description

This bowl was handturned from the trunk of a massive elm tree that grew in the front of Dow Hall, the home of the Center for Language Study.  The tree grew across the Grove Street from Silliman and Timothy Dwight Colleges and next door to the FAS Dean's and Graduate School Dean's Office building at 1 Hillhouse.  The tree fell onto Grove Street during hurricane Sandy in 2012 taking down power lines and completely blocking access to the street.  This bowl measures 7" in diameter and 4" in height.  It is bowl #9 of the 28 bowls that will be turned from this tree.
